Term 2
This week was book week. We started the week by dressing up as a character from a book and went on a book trail around the school. All of the teachers dressed up as aliens and we read the book 'Here comes the aliens'. We took part in lots of alien activities from discovering alien footprints and slime, making spaceships, writing letters to space and designing our own aliens.
We started this week learning about Remembrance Day. We stopped for our 2 minute silence, made and painted poppies, made a wreath and made medals for the soldiers. We then spent the rest of the week learning about Diwali. We made rangoli patterns, diya lamps and tasted kheer which we thought was delicious.
We had a spooky start to Term 2 as our home corner was now a Witches kitchen. It was full of gruesome ingredients to make potions with. We learnt about Bonfire night this week where we took part in lots of firework arts and crafts and finished off the day by having our own bonfire and toasting marshmallows. We made some chocolate apples to take home and also got to try our first session of balance bikes which we all really enjoyed.
