Our Intention for Spoken Language
This is taught in every year at an appropriate level. It can be taught as a focussed lesson or as part another activity and across subjects. It prepares children to listen purposefully and respond appropriately to others; expanding thier curiosity through questioning skills. It develops pupils’ ability to speak, including conversing, for a variety of purpose. It highlights the need for pupils to speak using Standard English and develop their vocabulary.
