Pupil Premium
The government introduced it's Pupil Premium Funding initiative in 2011. It is funding sent to schools based on the number of pupils in school who are eligible for Free School Meals.
From 2012, funding included all children who have been eligible for Free School Meals within the last 6 years. In addition, amongst others, children who have been adopted from care also receive extra funding.
This extra funding can be used in a variety of ways to support these children both academically and socially to help them reach their full potential.
